ba ba ba ba ba
That's the sound that my son is making over the baby monitor at this moment. I've been trying to put him down for a nap for about an hour but with no success. I know he's tired, though. So I just put him in his crib in the hopes that he'll tire himself out. It's been about ten minutes and he's still wide awake it seems.
I'm waiting on the boyfriend to get home. yay
I went to look at a day care center today and was pretty happy with what I saw. The director was out to lunch so I'm going to call later and have her mail me their literature. I'll probably go back one more time to talk to her in person, but overall I felt really comfortable there. It's much cheaper than the JCC, too, but not so cheap that you wonder what the hell is going on.
So that makes me feel a lot more confident about starting off on my job search. Of course, I just read something in the NY Times about one of the libraries there starting an open air lending library and how that was all the rage during the Depression and could this be the sign of a new one? Not encouraging.
Also not encouraging was my Uncle Jimmy's look of disgust when I told him about my QPA. He pretty much dashed any hopes I had of getting into grad school, but I think it was mostly a platform for him to tell me about all the fabulous grades he got when he was in college. Yeah, lotta good it did you, you gingivitis-ridden snob. No matter, though.
