1. What food do you like that most people hate?\
\
There are a couple…sauerkraut, cheap macaroni and cheese with tomato sauce, tuna noodle casserole\
\
2. What food do you hate that most people love?\
\
any kind of nuts in desserts…other than that, I'm really not very picky.\
\
3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?\
\
Russell Crowe. I really don't get it. I mean, I kinda get it, but that guy just irritates me.\
\
4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find\
attractive?\
\
I don't know if people find him unappealing but he's certainly not billed as a heartthrob…Tim Roth.\
\
5. What popular trend baffles you?\
\
A Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, et al. \
Young girls dressing like assholes. \
Young boys with body image issues/adopting traditionally female insecurities and mental illnesses (sidebar; though this trend is relatively new, there are already hundreds of books and programs and articles and studies aimed at helping the afflicted. Girls, on the other hand, have had these issues for generations but they've only been seriously addressed in my lifetime. Fuck eating disorders anyway.)

Did you ever get a new person on your friends list who seems like a really promising individual and then they just FUCK IT ALL UP? I'm so annoyed.\
\
By the way, if you're reading this, I'm not talking about you. I've set up this very catty, eighth grade filter. I need to grow up.

I'm glad that I received my new library card today. I'm starting to feel this overwhelming hunger for books. If only I could get through this fucking Elizabeth book. I swear I've never read anything so boring in my entire life.

Hepatitis A or no, Chi Chi's SUCKS ASS. Why would you eat there anyway? I'm frustrated. Not to mention that, throughout this whole Typhoid Mary situation, I've had to repeatedly hear the words “beaver” and “chi chi's” and “hepatitis,” all in the less-than-appetizing patois that is Pittsburghese.\
\
I think I need an apple and some fat-free caramel dip. We're out of Halloween candy and I'm going through severe withdrawal. I spent a good part of the evening crawling around, looking under beds and dressers for stray Snickers and SweetTarts.\
\
Gah!

I wonder if the folks at Sauce will ever get a not-goofy picture of me.\

This is from Halloween Night at the Projekthaus. Okay, in the flowered outfit we have . The hot chick with the blue hair is . See if you can pick me out….Yeah, that's me, in the white shirt. What am I doing? Jogging away? Dancing? I-must-I-must-I-must-increase-my-bust-ing? Or maybe I'm charging over to the boyfriend (the guy in the orange shirt) to whine at him. Who knows.\
Wow, I'm really avoiding this article, aren't I? Grumble.

My internet was all messed up today. So annoying. No connection until maybe 10 minutes ago. Last night I took all of the communities that I belong to off of my friends list because I was noticing that I was spending close to an hour reading stuff about Eddie Izzard and Carnivale when I should be, you know, accomplishing things. I'm in the midst of working on an article for Pulp and it's going dreadfully slow. Part of the reason may be that I'm sleepy beyond all comprehension. Last night, some tickets to the Pitt basketball game fell into my lap. We went to that with a pretty big group then stopped at this Mexican place on the South Side. Taco Loco, which was really quite good, but afterward my breath tasted and smelled like…I don't know. Something bad. (I'm also itching to try that new sushi place across the street. Nakama? Field trip!) We went home and I fell asleep rather quickly while the boyfriend watched TV. I woke up about 3 hours later because the TV was still on. I look over and he's knee-deep in Choke, the new Chuck Palahniuk novel that and gave me for my birthday. I barely had a chance to look at it. I have a real problem with people reading my books before I do and he knows this. However, he disregards it because he writes it off as me being “a fucking nutcase.” Whatever. I was further horrified to find out that he had TAKEN THE BOOK INTO THE BATHROOM WITH HIM. Ugh. Wasn't there a Sienfeld episode about that? Anyway, I tell him to turn the TV off since he's not watching it and I roll over to go back to sleep…only to find that I'm wide awake. I laid there for some time, watching my new book being devoured, then I start thinking…and thinking…and worrying…and thinking…and worrying even more. About what? Oh, everything. My lack of a driver's license. My lack of life insurance. My lack of a will. My lack of funds to hire a lawyer to draw up a will. My lack of regular employment. The boyfriend's lack of insurance. My ability to balance motherhood and a career. My ability to balance writing and a regular job. The baby's diet. Just everything. It was so annoying. I ended up spouting everything out to the boyfriend, who always manages to settle me down. (His gift of perspective is something that I will always admire.) I was awake until about 6:30 or so and slept through the alarm that I had set so that I could get up and get stuff done around the house. So right now I'm irritated with myself on several levels. My inability to lose myself in the Internet today only compounded it.\
However, I did accomplish something yesterday. I called Discover to tell them to take off these bullshit services that I had unwittingly signed up for months ago. They were costing me about $15 a month, not including interest. At that rate, I was never going to pay that card off. They tried to give me the doom and gloom, as though the second the services were turned off my credit information would be available to every escaped convict east of the Mississippi. So far, everything appears to be calm.\
Speaking of which, now that the Internet is up and running again, I'm going to go pay some bills. Yippee!

This is for , who asked, “What's up with your new user pic?” The source and story behind it are as follows:\
\
\
\
That's me at this house that I used to live in with . It was in Squirrel Hill and while it was rather dumpy is still my most favoritest place that I've ever lived. In this picture, it is the year 2000 and I am in the midst of hosting a Halloween party called “Drunk O'Lantern.” As per tradition, all of the alcohol at the party was combined in one of those plastic trick-or-treating cauldrons to create the annual Lantern Mix and passed around. I'm taking a rather large gulp. I know you can't see it, but my liver is screaming, “NOOOOOOOOO!” Not long after this picture was taken, some party pooper threw up in the Lantern Mix.\
I know it's passe, but I was just thinking that maybe I should start a weekly “Ask Kelly” session. All of other cool kids on LJ do it.\

I slept in, like, later than I have in years. I woke up at 11! I'm so out of it and confused. I gave the baby goldfish crackers and raisins for “breakfast.” I think I have to go to the bathroom. My email won't work on the Dell for some reason.

Does someone want to explain the broken beer bottles and piles of dog shit that have been scattered all over my street for the past few days? I've rolled the stroller through both and I'm none too happy. Plus, the dog shit, having been strolled on and stepped on has dried and split and revealed the hairballs, carpet fibers, and its other unsavory ingredients. Then, of course, I encountered a man in his 40s who was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and drinking iced tea. His behavior and speech led me to believe that he was not all there. He stopped when he hear the stroller squeaking up behind him and turned to wait for me, which was very nice but, really, quite unnecessary. We then had the following conversation…\
Don Ho: “Beautiful day, huh?”\
Me: “Oh, yes. It's wonderful.”\
Don Ho: “Hey, are you Irish?”\
Me: “Uh, yeah…well, I'm not from there.”\
Don Ho: “I'm Irish, too.”\
\
Me: “Oh…good.”\
Don Ho: “Well, I'm actually Italian, Irish and French, but the best parts of me are Irish. Haha.”\
Me: “Well, that's nice.”\
Don Ho: “Yeah. Hey! March 17th, right?”\
Me: …\
Don Ho: “That's the day, huh?”\
\
Me: “Oh, right. Well, have a nice day.”\
Kinda strange.\
\
Anyway, I did go to vote. However, , there were no Green Party options. Sadly. \
blip.\
This happens to me more and more. I start an entry and then halfway through it I completely forget everything that I was going to write about. I hate that.\
I bought Ginkgo Biloba today, so we'll see if that helps…that is, if I can remember to take it. It's always fun to experiment with supplements that aren't approved by the FDA.

T. Marzetti Fat-Free Caramel Apple Dip is the shit. I could eat it straight.\
\
So, I switched jeans and I think that helped. Right now I'm waiting for my mom to get home and then we're going to walk down to St. Mary's to vote. I must admit that, outside of the County Executive position, I'm a little less than informed about all of the judges and whatnot. Sorry, I can't keep all them people straight. But, hey, I'm in my 20s and I'm voting which makes me rebellious or something. Wow, I just realized that I'm finally out of that 18-24 MTV demographic. Makes sense, since the night before my birthday I saw about 50 different commercials for anti-wrinkle cream and Rogaine for Women. *shudder*\
I just got back from interviewing some folks at the Pink Building. Pretty nice conversation, even though I didn't totally feel like being there. I walked to and fro, which was nice, especially since it's a gorgeous day today.\
Brain dead. Must make dinner.
